Zenzo Ngqobe (Tsotsi, The River) was up for Best Actor at the Africa Movie Academy Awards for his performance as a young man who returns from Johannesburg to rural Lesotho to bury his estranged father.

• In his screen debut, Lebogang Ntsane was named Best Child Actor at The African Movie Academy Awards, where The Forgotten Kingdom also won Cinematography and Sound awards.
• Cinematographer Carlos Carvalho was widely praised for his work here; you’ll want to add Lesotho to your bucket list after seeing this. Carvalho tragically passed away in 2018 after a fatal run in with a giraffe while filming.
