Pro tip
If you find a film on Plot Twist Picks that you’d like to watch later, tap Save or Watch Later in YouTube. The next time you open YouTube on your TV while signed into the same account, it’ll be waiting in your Library.
OPTION 3: Use an HDMI cable
If your TV doesn’t have any smart apps or wireless casting, or you just want the most stable connection possible, you can connect your laptop directly to your TV with an HDMI cable.
Step 1: Find the right cable
Most modern laptops use HDMI, USB-C, or Thunderbolt ports. If your laptop doesn’t have a standard HDMI port, you’ll need an adapter (USB-C to HDMI, for example) to bridge the connection.
Step 2: Connect laptop to TV
Plug one end of the HDMI cable into your laptop (or adapter) and the other end into an open HDMI port on your TV.
Step 3: Switch your TV’s input
Grab your TV remote and press the “Source” or “Input” button until you land on the correct HDMI channel (e.g., HDMI 1, HDMI 2).
Step 4: Browse and play
Head to the Plot Twist Picks website on your laptop as normal, find your film, and hit play. Your laptop screen will now mirror onto your TV.
Pro tip
For the best sound, check if your TV’s HDMI port supports ARC (Audio Return Channel), or just plug a separate audio cable into your TV’s headphone jack if the sound only comes through your laptop speakers.
